Even though same sex marriage is an institution against the religious idea of marriage, calling same-sex marriage an act against nature is wrong. Gay people shouldn't be judged by society, the society should respect different opinions and beliefs because they should have the same rights as all of us. Most importantly is the right to personal freedom: people can choose whoever they want to spent their lifes with just as they have the freedom to choose .
The fact is that some societies are judging in a wrong way the gay marriage for an old conception of an idea given by the church and how they interpret that idea and share it with others. For example some Christian groups in the United States claim that gay marriage is against the God's Will in the way he created opposite-sex to be in a normal union, so if they support the idea of a same-sex marriage that would normalized gay behavior instead of encourage resistance to the same-sex attraction.
On the other hand we can found some religions who based their beliefs on the right of freedom and that are theologically considered liberal, giving the space of people to think without judging and encourage them to respect others peoples opinions and behaviors.
The United Church of Canada claims that all people, regardless of their sexual orientation, if they believe in Jesus and follow their beliefs, are welcome to be members of the church. Anyway, despite their support and acceptance for gay marriage this couldn't be done without intense debate over this topic. The church started his campagnes in 1977 adding sexual orientation to federal non-discrimination laws, which was accomplished in 1996, only after 19 years and on 2005 finally Canada became the first country outside Europe to legalize same-sex marriage.
It is a long road to finally considered everybody as equals and to accept that gay people also deserve the same rights as everybody else. Its good if some communities don't share this ideals or opinions but at least they should respect and shouldn't judge for others people´s beliefs, everybody is free to choose whoever they want to spent their life with.
